Stripe Subscription Billing Setup for SaaS (Laravel Cashier and APIs)
I set up Stripe subscription billing in your app: plans, checkout, the customer portal, trials, and webhooks that keep your app and Stripe in step. It’s for SaaS founders who want billing done once and done right. From $910 ($700 founding), about 2–3 weeks. Your Stripe account stays yours.

Who this is for.
A good fit if
- SaaS products about to charge their first customers
- Apps with billing that half works: missed webhooks, wrong access after a failed payment
- Products adding seats or usage-based pricing
Common triggers
- The launch date is set and nobody has built billing
- Customers keep access after canceling, or lose it after paying
- Pricing is moving to seats or usage
Not a fit if
- You need a payment provider other than Stripe
- You need a PCI audit or tax advice
- You want to migrate subscriptions from another billing system inside this scope (quoted separately)
What I do, and what you get.
What I do
- Model your plans and prices in Stripe (test mode first)
- Add Stripe Checkout and the customer portal to your app
- Handle webhooks safely: verified signatures, each event processed once, in any order
- Tie app access to subscription status, including trials, grace periods and failed payments
- On the Standard plan: seats or usage meters, proration, dunning emails and Stripe Tax switched on at checkout
- Test every path with Stripe’s test clocks and cards, then go live with you
What you get
- Billing code in your app, with tests
- A plan/price map and a webhook event list
- A go-live checklist, completed with you
- Handover notes: how to add a plan, change a price, refund, cancel
- A 14-day fix window
Your part
- A verified Stripe account in your name
- Pricing decisions
- Your terms, refund policy and tax registrations (with your accountant)
- A person to test checkout
Included

- Payment
- Paid in full before work starts
- Earliest start
- Oct 5
Founding price: 3 of 7 spots left, until Mar 31, 2027 — one-off work, in return for a testimonial. How it works
Prices are in USD, paid by bank transfer against an invoice. Work under $1,000 is paid upfront; larger work is 50% to start and 50% before handover, or monthly milestones. How working together works
Variations
- Laravel
- Cashier, with your plan logic in app code.
- Go or Python API
- Stripe’s official SDKs with the same webhook rules.
- Usage-based
- Stripe Billing meters; your app reports usage events.
- Existing Stripe setup
- A fix-up of webhooks and access rules.
How it runs.
- 01
Pricing and plans
You share your pricing and plan list.
- 02
Scope and invoice
I send a fixed scope and the invoice.
- 03
Build in test mode
I build everything against Stripe’s test mode.
- 04
Test clock run-through
We run every billing path with test clocks together.
- 05
Go live together
We switch to live mode together, and I hand over.
Where I have done this before.
Questions buyers ask.
Do you touch card data?
No. Stripe Checkout and the portal handle cards; your app never sees them.
Can you do usage-based pricing?
Yes, with Stripe’s meters: your app reports usage, and Stripe totals it on the invoice.
What happens when a payment fails?
We agree the rules: retries, emails, a grace period, then restricted access.
Do you set up sales tax or VAT?
I switch on and wire Stripe Tax. Where you register and what you owe is for you and your accountant.
Can you move us from another billing system?
Yes, quoted separately after a look at the data.
Ask about Subscription Billing.
Tell me what you have and where it hurts. I reply within one US business day with either a fixed quote or the entry step that makes a fixed quote possible.
Helpful to include
- App stack
- Pricing model (flat, seats or usage)
- Trial or no trial
- Current billing state
- Is your Stripe account ready?
- Launch date

MVP Build
I build the first working version of your product: one web app with the core flow, login, an admin and a production deploy. It’s for founders who have a scope and want a senior engineer, not an agency. From $3,900 ($3,000 founding), delivered in monthly phases over about 3 to 5 months. Start with a Discovery Sprint.
SaaS & Web Apps
I add features and modules to Laravel and Vue/Nuxt web apps, or build new ones. It’s for SaaS founders and agencies who need a senior developer for a defined piece of work. From $780 ($600 founding) for a feature, typically 2–4 weeks, fixed scope. Email me what you need and your stack versions.
Backend APIs
I build backend APIs in Go or Python: documented endpoints, authentication, background jobs, tests and a Docker image ready to deploy. It’s for startups and agencies that need a reliable service behind their app. From $1,300 ($1,000 founding) for up to 10 endpoints, about 3–4 weeks. Email me what the API must do.
AI Features & RAG
I add AI features to working products: LLM features with checked output, vision and document extraction, and answers grounded in your own documents (RAG) with citations. It’s for small teams who want AI that is tested, not a demo. From $1,600 ($1,200 founding) for one feature, about 3–4 weeks. You pay model costs directly.
